Biker seeking real answers from insurance provider

The Editor: No fault insurance is a scam.

No fault insurance is a scam.

I have been, and will be, protesting in front of the SGI building in Estevan and would like to share my story to shed light on the fact SGI has, and will continue to, disregard their responsibilities to their customers.

On Oct. 24, 2016, I was involved in a vehicular incident where the other driver was found to be 100 per cent at fault. A driver in SGI’s Graduated Driver program drove out of a parking lot across the occupied roadway where I held the right-of-way. I was forced to lay down my motorcycle and slide into his vehicle. It’s a miracle I walked away with no broken bones or major lacerations. However, I have been suffering severe neck and shoulder injuries which are most likely to plague me for the rest of my life.

According to no fault insurance, the fact I didn’t die or break bones, means I have no priority status, and as such, am being treated as a person attempting to defraud the system.

SGI continuously refuses expenses and then refuses to provide letters of denial. These letters would be necessary to appeal the decision they have made.

I have tried to seek help from the upper echelons within SGI, including those employed within the Fair Practice Board and always come away with the same answers, such as “no fault doesn’t cover that, or pretty much anything other than medical and wage.â€Â

I have asked for help and settlement for the injuries and they inform me they don’t pay for injuries. They are even reluctant concerning the basic wage and medical compensation situation.

Now I am in a position where I am losing more than what is coming in. I am left with nothing and no one to turn to for help.
