Earlier last the week, the Junior Rebels successfully outwitted the Regina Silver Foxes on a Wednesday competition at the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena, besting the visiting team with a 5-2 result. John Priela, Riley Skarbon and Cole Zieg all dunked assisted goals into the enemy’s net during the first period. In the second, Tyde Hutchinson followed his teammates up by scoring an unassisted ace through the Foxes’ twines. During the third period, Jordan Johnson notched Assiniboia’s fifth goal with assistance from Cayden Price and Reese Rutko.
But the Junior Rebels were outdone on Saturday, January 25 by Fort Knox who left Assiniboia with an 8-2 conquest under their belts. Earlier, the game started in Assiniboia’s benefit, when Cayden Price scored from Jordan Johnson and Reese Rutko at 16:33 in the first period. However, the team from Fort Qu'Appelle shut the Rebels down for much of this game by scoring three keepers in the first, followed by three more goals in the second period.
The Rebels bounced back at 12:44 in the third, with Reese Rutko shooting one through at 12:44 with assistance from Randy Stowe and Cayden Price. But Fort Knox sealed the game in their favour, scoring at 7:36 in the third, which was then succeded by another goal by Fort Qu'Appelle during the power play with 22 seconds remaining.Â
The Rebels will play another home game in the Civic Centre on Wednesday, January 29 against Triple Seven Chrysler Storm at 7:30 p.m. The Rebels are also scheduled to match-up against the Regina Silver Foxes on January 31 with the game starting at 8 p.m. in the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena. The following day, the Rebels will spar once again with the Silver Foxes on February 1 in Assiniboia with Saturday night’s game scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
