All Western Development Museum locations in Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton are closed to the public effective Tuesday, March 17 due to the COVID-19 virus. They have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and believe the decision to close is in the best interest of their visitors, volunteers and staff. The WDM Board of Directors and the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport have supported this decision.

"We are committed to the health and wellbeing of people in all our communities. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve rapidly, we have made the difficult decision to close all Western Development Museum locations to the public until further notice. We value the support so many in our communities have shown the WDM over the years and we look forward to welcoming you back into our museums when it is safe to do so," said Joan Kanigan, CEO.

Management will be in contact with organizers of upcoming events booked into their facilities. Also, they will accommodate refunds on deposits made. Western Development Museum apologizes for the inconvenience, but the safety of everyone in Saskatchewan’s communities is their priority. Their website –   – can be checked for updates.
