Weyburn-born singer Tenille Arts was nominated in six categories for awards from the Saskatchewan Country Music Association, tied for the most nominations for the 30th annual awards celebration to be held on Sunday, April 14, in Saskatoon.
Her nominations include for Female Artist of the Year, Interactive Artist of the Year, Fan鈥檚 Choice Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for her Canadian single, 鈥淢ad Crazy Love鈥.
She is also nominated for Video of the Year for the U.S. single, 鈥淚 Hate This鈥, which she performed on the ABC-TV show, The Bachelor, in January, the second time she had appeared on that show.
鈥淭o all the Saskatchewan Country Music Association members, thank you so much for getting me to the final ballot,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 wait to see you in April at the SCMAs.鈥
Most recently, Tenille was on the road opening for Dylan Scott in Lynchburg and Richmond, Virginia, last weekend, and the previous week opened for William Michael Morgan in Ft. Collins, Denver and Colorado Springs, Colo., and in Albuquerque, N.M.
She recently performed at the famous Bluebird Caf茅 in Nashville, and a storm caused a power outage.
鈥淲e played in the dark with no mics. It was magical,鈥 said Tenille of the experience.
Her single 鈥淚 Hate This鈥 continues to gain momentum after hitting the No. 1 spot on the Radio Disney Country Top 50 charge, and No. 1 on both the U.S. and Canadian iTunes Country charts, and No. 9 on the U.S. iTunes all-genre charge after her performance on The Bachelor.
She wrapped up 2018 by touring with Dean Brody on his Dirt Road Stories Tour that went across Canada.
