This year鈥檚 edition of the Kinette Craft and Trade Show had an excellent turnout of consumers and exhibitors said Jessica Jansen, who assumed the lead role for the organization this year.聽
鈥淲e had over 500 visitors, and we had a full house of 52 exhibitors this year, which was an increase over last year,鈥� said Jansen, referring to the one-day event staged in the Wylie-Mitchell Air Cadet Hall last Saturday. 聽
This was the 32nd annual craft and trade show for the community with the Kinettes taking over the major sponsorship role from the Estevan Quota Club a few years ago by mutual agreement.聽
鈥淭he volunteer turnout from the club was pretty good. I would say at least half of our active members were there to lend a hand and the girls鈥� water polo team members helped us out a lot with the clean up, after it was all over,鈥� Jansen added.
鈥淲e have talked a bit about, maybe, trying to expand the show, using the activity room in the Leisure Centre, but that鈥檚 not certain at this stage,鈥� said Jansen. The craft and trade show has grown in popularity over the years and as a result, a waiting list of potential exhibitors has developed.聽
One thing the Kinettes do know, is that next year鈥檚 event, whether it has 52 exhibitors or more, will be held on Nov. 19.聽
And as in the past, 鈥渢he money we raised will be going back into the community,鈥� said Jansen.聽
The exhibitors who brought everything from baked goods to crafted, woodworking, jewelry, scents, clocks, arts works and candle items, reported some very strong sales during an intense shopping day.聽
鈥淭hey all seemed to be pretty happy with the results, and if the vendors are happy, we are,鈥� said Jansen.
