Those who may desire some quiet time to reflect and contemplate during one of the busiest and chaotic times of the year, are invited to attend the Blue Christmas observance on Dec. 17.聽

The service will be conducted in the chapel at St. Joseph鈥檚 Hospital, said Marian Huber, the director of pastoral services at the hospital.聽

The service will get underway at 7 p.m. and will take on an ecumenical flavour with music and prayer. Reverends Mark Osborne of St. Giles Anglican Church will be joined by Stewart Miller from Trinity Lutheran Church and Kay Humes from St. Paul鈥檚 United Church.聽

Dustin Hall will provide some vocals and harpist Sharon Elliott has agreed to lend to the occasion with a few selections.聽

鈥淭his service allows participants a little space and time to meditate and review the past year and all the events and to remember those who are no longer with us,鈥 said Huber. The joy of Christmas music will also permeate throughout the service to bolster the spirits and bring a sense of encouragement to the proceedings.

鈥淲e send out the message of hope and trust and an invitation to everyone to come and join us on this special evening,鈥 Huber said.
