ESTEVAN — Teams from across southeast Saskatchewan converged on the soccer pitches at Cactus Park June 22 for Estevan Youth Soccer's year-end Soccerfest tournament.

Approximately 350 players from 25 teams braved the dreary conditions to participate. Teams came from Estevan, Carievale, Stoughton, Redvers, Wawota, Kipling and Indian Head, as well as the Moose Mountain, Quad Town and Qu'Appelle Valley areas.

There were eight teams in the under-9, six in the U11, seven in U13 and four in U15/17.

The tournament was more for fun and served as one of the final events of the season for many soccer teams. Organizers didn't award trophies or medals but there was a winner in each age group: Estevan Team A (U9), Moose Mountain (U11), Quad Town (U13) and Stoughton/Redvers (U15/17).
