SASKATOON — Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation CEO Steve Shannon has announced a major gift and the successful completion of its CT scanner campaign.
“Thanks to another transformational gift of $1 million from the Dubé family, the foundation has raised the entire $2.9 million purchase price for the scanner,” Shannon said. “Because of the Dubé family’s sharing, we completed this campaign in less than a year.”
Shannon added that, “The Dubé family has been exceedingly kind to both the entire city and Saskatoon City Hospital. This is their third major gift to the hospital’s Medical Imaging department. To thank them, I’m pleased to announce the naming of The Dubé Family Department of Medical Imaging. Their contributions have enabled the department to continue improving imaging services while making them safer, clearer and faster. The renaming of the department is in honour of their enduring support.”
He also thanked donors from across the province for raising the bulk of the funds needed.
“We had so many people calling, mailing, emailing, or stopping by with a donation. Many told us that the CT scanner made a difference in their lives; many even remarked how the CT scanner actually saved their lives or the life of a loved one.
“The response from all donors was so touching and why our campaign, originally expected to conclude in 19 months, was instead completed in just 10. Thank you again to the Dubé family and thank you again to all donors.”
