REGINA — The University of Regina is welcoming fourteen new Chancellor’s Scholars this fall.

The scholars come from Saskatchewan and Manitoba. According to the U of R, this increases the number of  Chancellor’s Scholars at the institution from 14 to 28.

"The Chancellor’s Scholarship program is designed to attract high-achieving, talented students who are passionate about building community to the University of Regina to pursue their academic dreams and develop their leadership skills," said Pam Klein, Chancellor of the University of Regina and founder of the Chancellor’s Community.

A Chancellor’s Scholarship is worth $40,000 each. These scholarships included academic mentoring, leadership programming, on-campus housing and more for the scholars' first year.

Felicia An, the 2025-2026 recipient of the Bundon-Carr Chancellor’s Scholarship, said she was completely shocked to learn that she was chosen.

"It felt like all my hard work had truly paid off," she said.

An said the award would ease her family’s financial stress while focusing on her dream of becoming a radiologist.

She will also continue to play hockey with the U of R Cougars.

"These fourteen inspiring student leaders are already making significant contributions to their communities through their commitment to volunteering, their academic curiosity, and their high level of performance in athletics and many other endeavours," said Dr. Jeff Keshen, President of the U of R.

Keshen said he’s looking forward to seeing the scholars develop into confident, community-minded leaders.
