REGINA – A Regina man charged with attempted murder after allegedly striking two pedestrians with a vehicle remains in custody.
Kartik Deswal, 18, is scheduled to appear in court again on July 7, possibly for a bail hearing.
The charges stem from an incident on June 14 when Regina police were called to the 1400 block of Kramer Boulevard for reports of a vehicle collision involving injuries. The initial police investigation revealed that an altercation had broken out among several people when a vehicle suddenly drove into the group, striking two victims before crashing into a tree.
Police say Deswal fled the scene but later returned. He also faces charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm, and dangerous driving.
