REGINA — The Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. (REAL) has revealed its new permanent president and CEO, Rick Bennett.
According to a media release issued Monday, Bennett has over 20 years of international executive experience in sports, tourism, hospitality and venue operations.
His experiences included leading operations for destination venues, civic venues and more across three continents.
“Rick [Bennett] brings a powerful combination of global experience and people-first leadership,” said Jaime Boldt, chair of the REAL board of directors.
She added, “He’s the right leader to guide REAL through this next phase of growth, bringing stability, energy and long-term focus.”
Bennett said he is excited to join REAL at a pivotal moment.
“There’s strong momentum already underway, and I’m excited to help accelerate that progress and shape a future our team and community can be proud of.”
Bennett takes over for REAL interim CEO Trent Fraser, who was appointed in April.
Fraser's two-month tenure was focused on finding ways to save costs and improve efficiency at REAL.
Last week, REAL parted ways with seven senior management workers. Boldt said this was part of restructuring the organization.
REAL said Bennett’s appointments mark a step forward toward continued evolution.
