City of Regina fires several workers, including chief of staff

The city has confirmed the firing of chief of staff, Ly Pham, and Christine Pirlot, executive assistant to the city manager.

The firings come after former city manager Niki Anderson was placed on leave April 29th.

REGINA — The City of Regina has confirmed former city manager Niki Anderson’s chief of staff, Ly Pham, and Christine Pirlot, executive assistant to the city manager, have been fired.

Both Pham and Pirlot were let go after Anderson was placed on leave, effective April 29th.

Mayor Chad Bachynski said Anderson’s leave stemmed from a personal matter, and no timeline was given on when she would return.

Pham had been working for the city since 2021, joining the chief of staff under former Mayor Sandra Masters in 2022. Meanwhile, Pirlot had been working for the city since at least 2023.

The city also confirmed the firing of the director of indigenous relations & community development, Audra Young.

No further comments will be made by the city at this time.
