Joseph (Joe) Rebrinsky
September 5, 1931 - May 13, 2025
After a brief but intense illness, Joseph Rebrinsky, formerly of Weyburn, died on May 13, 2025, with family at his side. He’s survived by his wife of 71 years, Sarah; daughters, Deborah (Rick) Hartness, Brenda (Juan) Arancivia, and Darcy (Dale) Hudjik; Grandchildren, Gregg (Amanda) Hartness, Erin (Matt) Griffiths, Todd (Alexis) Hartness, Rafael (Jocelyn) Arancivia, Paola (Jamie) Zappitelli, Jett and Jazz Hudjik, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Annie Rebrinsky, his brother Jim and infant daughter, Jody.
Joe was born on September 5, 1931 in Weyburn, SK. After finishing his schooling, he worked at his father’s business, Weyburn Auto Body, as a parts man.
Joe was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 1952.
On June 6, 1953 he married Sarah Suetta. They settled in Weyburn where their first 2 daughters were born. In 1959 the family moved to Lima, Peru, to serve where the need was greater. They lived there for 10 years during the 1960s and 1970s. During that time, they would return to Weyburn for short periods of time. During one of those times daughter 3 was born. Daughter 4 was born in Lima.
The family moved to Winnipeg in 1977 and Joe worked for Business Furnishings in the installation, repair and upholstering of office furniture. He worked there until he retired.
Joe’s passion was to share with others his Bible-based hope of seeing this planet healed and all mankind living in peace. Isaiah 65:17-25. He also helped take care of the congregations he was in serving as an elder in Spanish and English
A Memorial service was held on Saturday, May 17,with many in attendance both in person and on Zoom. Interment of his ashes to happen later in June at Hillcrest Cemetery.
