SAPACH, Adella It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adella Sapach on June 27, 2025, at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK. Renowned for her dedication to family, she leaves behind a legacy deeply cherished by all who knew her.

Adella Emily Sapach was born on April 29, 1951, to Steve and Mary (née Krutz) Balysky in Canora, SK. Raised on the family farm in the Glen Elder district, she developed a strong affinity for rural life, assisting with animals, gardening, and household responsibilities. Adella often recalled her upbringing with gratitude, grounded in values of love, faith, hard work, and selflessness imparted by her parents. Demonstrating early compassion, her mother frequently remarked that Adella was destined for a career in healthcare, evident from her nurturing play as a child.

Adella attended Porcupine School during her formative years and Sturgis High School as a teenager. Shortly after graduating, she met Eugene Sapach at a wedding in Norquay, SK. They married on August 22, 1970. The couple began their married life in Lanigan, SK, where Eugene worked in the mining industry. Adella welcomed their first son, Gene Bryan, on July 8, 1971, followed by their second son, Daniel Mark, on July 27, 1972. In the 1970s, the family returned to the Sapach farm, where Adella embraced the challenges and rewards of agricultural life with resilience and resourcefulness.

The mid-1980s saw the family grow further, with the births of Amanda Adelle on January 15, 1985, and Nathan Patrick on February 7, 1986. Adella’s dedication to her children was unwavering; she instilled the values of compassion, perseverance, forgiveness, diligence, and spirituality. Her tireless efforts ensured her children were well cared for, and she was always available to support them.

Proud of her Ukrainian heritage, Adella maintained family traditions, particularly during Christmas and Easter, where her culinary talents and artistry in decorating pysanky were central to celebrations. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing, ensuring an abundance of home-grown food and handcrafted items for her family.

As her children matured, Adella extended her caregiving beyond her immediate family. In 1997, she completed the Special Care Aid course at SIAST and subsequently worked in home care and at the Norquay lodge. She was recognized for her commitment, jovial spirit, and the meaningful relationships she developed with those she assisted. After retiring in 2017, she devoted herself to her expanding family, cherishing her role as Baba.

Active in her church and the UCWL, Adella volunteered extensively, contributing to numerous events and initiatives. She faced illness with grace and resilience, demonstrating considerable strength throughout her life.

Adella was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Mary Balysky (née Krutz), her husband Eugene, and her son Gene. She is survived by her son Daniel (Tracy), daughter Amanda (John), son Nathan (Michelle), grandchildren: Emily, Morgan, Matthew, Jordan, Victoria, Abigail, Jennifer, and Rachel, and great-grandchildren Xander, Theodore, and Elizabeth.
