SASKATOON—Roadways Literacy Academy was among the six schools given in the 2025 Read Live School of the Year, an annual event celebrating schools which demonstrated results through the use of the Read Live program.
The award is presented to schools that utilize the to enhance student achievement in key areas of literacy, including phonics, fluency, expression, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Roadways Literacy Academy, a dedicated full-time school and part-time tutoring studio in Saskatoon, has long been committed to meeting the individual learning needs of students who struggle with reading and math.
By implementing Read Live with fidelity, they have seen remarkable progress in their students’ confidence and reading skills, the school said.
“I am 100 per cent sold and a strong believer in the effectiveness of Read Live in building successful, confident and eager readers,” said Roadways Literacy Academy teacher Cheryl MacDonald.
As a recipient of this honourable mention, Roadways Literacy Academy will receive a $100 gift certificate for Read Naturally materials and a $25 Amazon gift card for the nominating teacher. More importantly, they are celebrated as a model of excellence in literacy instruction.
The Read Live School of the Year program encourages schools to share their success stories by submitting essays, student progress updates, and multimedia content.
Winning schools receive additional prizes and recognition for their commitment to literacy education.
