PRINCE ALBERT - Update, May 27: Police are investigating following a shooting on the weekend.
On May 26, while on routine patrol, a member of the Prince Albert Police Service observed a vehicle believed to have been involved in a shooting over the weekend driving westbound on 28th Street East.
Officers followed the vehicle and were able to observe the vehicle to have Saskatchewan Licence Plate number 344NUP, matching the description of the suspect vehicle.
Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop.
The vehicle initially pulled over, before the passenger of the vehicle jumped onto the centre console and began to drive the vehicle while the driver was still inside.
Officers did not continue to engage to ensure public safety.
Later that day, officers located the vehicle parked in the 1500 block of 4th Street East. The vehicle was unoccupied and was seized by police.
The Prince Albert Police Service is continuing to investigate in relation to this shooting and anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222.

Original post, May 26: The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating an incident where a firearm was discharged Friday night.
On May 23, 2025 at approximately 7 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of 12th Street East for a report of a gunshot.
Upon arrival, officers located a suspect vehicle and followed it until it came to a stop at the intersection of 6th Avenue East and 15th Street East.
Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency lights and attempted to box in the vehicle; however, the vehicle began to drive and collided with a patrol car before fleeing the scene.
Officers did not pursue the vehicle to ensure public safety as traffic was heavy.
Later that night, officers located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description parked outside a business in the 2700 block of 15th Avenue East.
The officer activated their vehicle’s emergency lights and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The vehicle fled westbound on 28th Street East at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was not pursued to ensure public safety.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Audi with Saskatchewan Licence Plate number 344 NUP.
