Cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine seized in drug raid

In June, CRT began an investigation into a man believed to be trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine in the City of Prince Albert.

PRINCE ALBERT - The Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team (CRT) has concluded a drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of a Niagara Falls, Ont., man.

In June, CRT began an investigation into a man believed to be trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine in the City of Prince Albert.

Through their investigation, CRT members were able to obtain evidence to arrest the man. He was arrested with the assistance of the Proactive Policing Unit on July 2, in the 3500 block of 2nd Avenue West without further incident.

A further search of the man, as well as a search warrant executed at a residence in the 1500 block of Olive Diefenbaker Drive resulted in the following seizures:

- 1,620 grams of methamphetamine;

- 453 grams of fentanyl;

- 34 grams of cocaine;

- $10,700 Canadian currency;

- Two cell phones;

- Two scales;

- Other items consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of this investigation, a 21-year-old man has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

The accused made his first court appearance on July 3.
