Spring means softball season

With the calendar flipping to May, softball is back, and so too is the North Central Softball League. Six teams from Humboldt will be in action throughout the year, including two in Bantam/Midget, one in Peewee, one in Squirt, and two in Mite.

Six teams from Humboldt will be in action throughout the year, including two in Bantam/Midget, one in Peewee, one in Squirt, and two in Mite.

Bantam/Midget 1

The Bantam/Midget 1 Thunder enjoyed a solid start to the season.

The Thunder kicked off their season on a low note, dropping their season opener 9-8 to Watrous, before bouncing back with back-to-back wins as they upended Wynyard 15-10 and Wadena 14-5.

Bantam/Midget 2

It was a tough start to the regular season for the Humboldt Bantam/Midget 2 Thunder as they dropped their season opening contest 11-6 to Watrous.  

Peewee

The Humboldt Peewee Thunder kicked off their season in excellent fashion.

The Thunder opened their season by routing Lanigan 20-5, and followed that up with a nail biting 11-10 win over Melfort.

Squirt

It was an ugly start to the season for the Humboldt Squirt Thunder as they dropped each of their first two contests by a combined score of 38-24.

The Thunder kicked off their season with a tough 22-16 loss to Lanigan 2, and were then doubled up 16-8 by Wadena.

Humboldt Mite 1

The Humboldt Mite 1 Thunder enjoyed a decent start to their season, as they split their first two contests.

The Thunder kicked off their season with a nail biting 4-3 win over Lanigan 1, before suffering a 14-4 loss at the hands of Muenster.

Humboldt Mite 2

While the Mite 1 Thunder were enjoying a decent start to the season, the Mite 2 Thunder enjoyed much less success as they dropped each of their two contests by a combined score of 16-3.

The Thunder’s season got off to a tough start against a solid Muenster side as they lost 5-1 and 11-2.
