vs. Hoppers
The week got off to an excellent start for the Royals as they picked up an 8-3 win over the Hoppers in Saskatoon on June 5.
Brody Frerichs picked up the win on the mound for the Royals pitching five strong, before Thomas Bollefer and Thomas Lessmeister came in to close things out.
vs. Outlaws
With winds gusting, the first game of the June 10 doubleheader in Marysburg saw both teams struggle offensively, with the Marysburg Royals squeaking out a 1-0 win.
Brent Puetz hit a run scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Royals the only run they would need, as Brody Frerichs fought through the wind to pitch five scoreless innings.
Brody turned the ball over to brother Carter Frerichs, who pitched a clean sixth inning, before handing the ball to Lessmeister, whopitched a one-two-three seventh inning to pick up the save.
vs. Outlaws
After a short break the two teams returned to action. With winds much more calm for the second game of the doubleheader, the Royals’ bats came alive pounding out 12 runs to knock off the Outlaws 12-1 in five innings.
Brody led the way offensively for the Royals, picking up five runs batted in, while Nick Anderson was solid on the mound to pick up the five inning complete game victory.
The contest got off to an excellent start for the Royals, who saw ten batters step up to the plate, scoring five times to take a 5-0 lead after just one inning.
After the two teams traded solo home runs in the second, the Royals tacked on six more thanks to a monstrous six-run fourth inning to run away with the win.
