The Wilkie Outlaws have jumped to a 1-0 lead in the Sask West Hockey League finals.
They won their opening game against the Macklin Mohawks 6-4 at the SaskCan Community Centre. It is a best-of-five series.
Power plays were the story of the game as seven power play goals were scored by each team.
The Outlaws took a 2-0 lead in the first period on power play goals from Brock Harrison and Logan Sproule in period one.
Macklin got one back with a minute left in the first period from Jason Baier, and then in the second they tied it up on a power play goal from Jared Hillis.
Wilkie regained the lead, again on a power play goal from Derek Keller. But Macklin took the lead with back-to-back power play goals from Carson Pickettt.
Garrett Cameron tied it up, again with the man advantage, with 3:15 remaining in the seonc.
The third period saw Wilkie take the lead for good on two Brock Harrison goals. One came with 4:20 remaining and the other was into an empty net with 20 seconds left.
Final shots in the game were 40-39 for the Outlaws.
