While there may still be moves made ahead of Friday night’s season opener against the host Kindersley Klippers, the makeup of the 2017-18 Battlefords North Stars is now known.
The defending Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League introduced this year’s lineup at the Civic Centre Thursday morning during the team’s annual kickoff breakfast.
Below, in alphabetical order and with each player’s stats from last season, is the current North Stars roster.
- Keith Anderson – Forward – 97 – 1st Season – 8-5-12 in 41 games with the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers and Alberni Valley Bulldogs – Also played in 10 WHL games last year with the Victoria Royals and Everett Silvertips
- Anthony Cuglietta – Defenceman – 99 – 1st Season – 1-5-6 in 34 games with the AMHL’s Edmonton Canadians

The North Stars also announced their new leadership group for the campaign Wednesday, with Young serving as captain and the assistant roles being filled by Gerein, Kleiboer and Spagrud.
The team also made a trade with the Yorkton Terriers Tuesday as they dealt defenceman Austin Wieler in exchange for Weyburn’s sixth round pick in the 2018 SJHL Bantam Draft.
Wieler, 18, was with the North Stars during the pre-season and had spent the last three season with SMAAAHL’s Saskatoon Contacts, where he had a goal and six assists in 42 games last year.
