The Bruno Merchants are on the board.
After losing their first four games of the season, the Merchants picked up their first win of the season on June 6 as they knocked off the Saskatoon Tint Centre Cubs 8-1 in Saskatoon.
The win came in the Merchants’ first of two games on the evening.
After a short break the Merchants returned to the field for the late game, where they took on the defending league champion Delisle Diamond Dogs.
The Merchants came into the contest looking for revenge against the Diamond Dogs, who shut out the Merchants 3-0 in their only other meeting of the season.
While the Merchants were able to score a run in the rematch, they were unable to score the victory as they were knocked off 7-5.
With the loss the Merchants’ record sits at 1-4 on the season.
