Ahead of the Battlefords road trip, Head Coach and General Manager Kevin Hasselberg had time to answer some questions.
Have you decided on who will be starting in between the pipes this weekend?
KH: [Taryn] Kotchorek will start Friday and [Ryan] Rewerts will start Saturday.
Have you been working on getting more quality shots against Jack Burgart?
KH: We have prepared to play Weyburn and certainly have addressed the need to be better in front of Burgart. He is the best goaltender in the SJHL and shooters have to be sharp and teams must get traffic to the net to beat him.
Do you have a plan for Darcy DeRoose and the top line in Estevan?Â
KH: We will do our best to ensure the DeRoose line is kept in check during that game. Estevan has a lot of weapons in their lineup that all have abilities to put the puck in the net. We will need to be at our best to compete against the Bruins and earn two points.
How important is the interdivision game against Notre Dame?
KH: We value each game as an opportunity to get better. Notre Dame has a well coached team with a goaltender that can steal a win. Our focus is day to day, we will be prepared to compete against Notre Dame with the understanding it will be an interdivision game.
How are you looking to rebound against Flin Flon?
KH: We felt for the first time travelling the long distance and playing in Whitney for a lot of our new players was overwhelming. It was an exciting game that simply got away from us. Our players worked hard that game, we simply didn't earn the results.
