The matchup for Saturday's championship game at the Western Canada Cup in Penticton, B.C. is now set.

Thanks to their 5-0 win over the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Portage Terriers Wednesday night at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Okanagan Events Centre, the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Brooks Bandits finished the round-robin with a 4-0 record and clinched first place in the standings.

With that result, the British Columbia Hockey League's Chilliwack Chiefs wrapped up the second seed and will go up against the Bandits for a spot at the RBC Cup in Cobourg, Ont. later this month.

Wednesday's outcome also gave the Battlefords North Stars a clear road map of what they have to do in order to clinch a playoff spot.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League champions, who have a 0-2-1 record, will need to beat the 2-1 Chiefs in their final round-robin contest at 3 p.m. Saskatchewan time Thursday.

If they win that game, they will then need either the Terriers or the tournament host Penticton Vees of the BCHL to lose in regulation in their matchup Thursday at 8 p.m.

Both of those teams are currently tied for third in the standings with 1-2 marks.

Wednesday's win by the Bandits was a dominant one from start to finish as they outshot the Terriers by a 43-19 margin.

Defenceman Cale Makar, who is expected to be a first round pick in the NHL Entry Draft in June, led the way for the Bandits with two goals and an assist.

Conner Jean and Ty Mappin each had a goal and an assist, while Nick Prkusic also found the back of the net.

Mitchel Benson turned aside all 19 shots he faced for the first shutout of the tournament by any goaltender.

Brock Aiken made 38 saves for the Terriers in the loss.
