The Battlefords AAA Stars have wrapped up their season after dropping two games against the Notre Dame Hounds this weekend.
The Stars fell Saturday to Notre Dame at home by a 7-5 final score. The Stars and Hounds were tied 4-4 through two periods but three straight Hounds goals in the third finished the Stars off.
The Stars did get a standout performance on the night from Shayde Peterson who scored a hat trick. Two of those goals came on the power play. Carson Dobson and Luke Fennig also scored for the Stars.
The Stars then lost Sunday afternoon by a 10-3 final score. The Stars had actually built a 2-1 first-period lead on goals from Tye Scherger and Carson Dobson, but the Hounds responded with four straight unanswered goals before Logan Holm pulled the Stars to within two in the second period.
The Hounds then rattled off five more unanswered goals, three on the power play, for the win.
After the game, the Stars players posed for pictures with their families on the ice at the end of their final home game.
The Stars finish in 10th place in the league with a record of 14-28-0-2, for 30 points. For the season, the Stars scored 131 goals and their goals against was 179.   Â
