TISDALE β€” Curling teams from across the province came to Tisdale to faceoff in the Viterra Women's Challenge.

The challenge took place Dec. 14 to 16 and resulted in two teams qualifying for the Viterra Scotties Provincial Championship in Humboldt on Jan. 22 to 27.

Steve Leibel, host committee chair and president of the Tisdale Curling Club, said the tournament went very well.

β€œIt was well attended by the folks, by the community,” Leibel said. β€œThe lounge was full all weekend, basically.”

The team who won the A event and qualified for the Provincial Championship was β€œTeam Just” from the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon. Their skip is Sherry Just, their third is Megan Anderson, their second is Ellen Redlick, their lead is Hanna Anderson and their coach is Jim Wilson

The team who won the B event and qualified for the Provincial Championship was β€œTeam Eberle” from the Highland Curling Club in Regina. Their skip is Chantelle Eberle, their third is Chaelynn Kitz, their second is Jana Tisdale and their lead is Haylee Jameson.

β€œThe competition was very strong,” Leibel said.
