MELFORT β The City of Melfort has outlined its own civic facility protocols as the province is lifting all emergency health orders including the removal of the province-wide mandatory masking order.
The change to the Public Health Order will take effect July 11 and also remove limits on events and gathering sizes. The province is advising that unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people should still consider masking.
In Melfort, the Northern Lights Palace Pool will operate at reduced levels until the necessary trained staff are in place to operate at full capacity.
The public is encouraged by the city to continue to book their swimming session online to ensure space when they arrive. Walk-ins will be accepted only as space permits.
For the Kerry Vickar Centre, visitors will not be required to wear a mask. However, they must follow whatever guidelines in place by the Saskatchewan Health Authority in the Swarthout Hall when attending vaccination clinics.
Enhanced cleaning procedures will continue in all civic facilities, although the city will no longer be screening or collecting contract tracing information from patrons entering. Hand sanitizing stations will remain in place, and the city suggests that wherever possible for residents to consider giving themselves two metres of distance from others.
βThe public is reminded that COVID-19 is still circulating,β said Brent Lutz, Melfortβs director of development planning and community relations in a statement. βThe best way to protect our most vulnerable from contracting the virus is by being fully immunized and protecting ourselves and our loved ones.
