TISDALE — The Tisdale Motor Speedway will kick off its race season June 28 with Fan Appreciation Day.
“June 28 is our Fan Appreciation and Kids’ Day, where we’ll have giveaways and will donate part of our gate admissions to a community project,” Dustin Randall, current president of Tisdale Motor Speedway, told Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
“Due to weather on our first race weekend, we had to postpone our opening day, but we were able to run the Sunday events with 35 cars in attendance,”Randall said.
TMS features four divisions of cars this year, including a new four-cylinder class, as well as hobby stocks, street stocks and modifieds.
Tisdale’s track celebrates 25 years in operation this year, Randall said. The non-profit organization typically runs two heat races per class, 10 laps each, followed by 20-lap feature races. Some days also include a 10-lap mechanics’ race.
TMS offers a food booth and beer gardens on race days. Drivers travel from across Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta to compete.
“We host an invitational weekend near the end of the season, with prize money and bragging rights on the line,” said Randall.
