Humboldt’s Summer Sizzler returns with music and fun

This year's Summer Sizzler is being held in conjunction with the Living Skies Music Festival featuring Big Wreck and Wide Mouth Mason.

HUMBOLDT — The City of Humboldt is inviting everyone to this year's Summer Sizzler, a weekend full of excitement and celebration, running June 26 to 29, and concluding with Canada Day festivities on July 1. 

The Department of Community and Leisure Services is thrilled to welcome residents and visitors to this annual event, which features four days of family fun, midway rides, live entertainment, comic con and more. The Summer Sizzler is held in conjunction with the Living Skies Music Festival, which brings a high-energy lineup of live music to Centennial Park. 

Thursday, June 26 

  • Kickoff concert and barbeque – fee concert hosted by Arts Humboldt. Enjoy live music from Jodie Hergott, Ray Whitton, Brian Grest, Walter Bushman, Dave Tomchysen and more. Proceeds support Arts Humboldt. Barbecue is at 5:30 p.m., and concert starts at 6 p.m. at the Civic Park Gazebo. 

Friday, June 27 

  • Canuck Amusements Midway – classic rides, games and treats from 3 to 10 p.m. 

  • Free family entertainment at Centennial Park from 3 to 8 p.m., featuring bouncy castles, face painting, balloon twisting and Toytown building, hosted by Cultural Services. 

Saturday, June 28 

  • Pancake Breakfast, hosted by the Humboldt Soup Kitchen at Civic Park. 

  • Summer Sizzler Parade, presented by the Downtown BID.

  • Canuck Amusements Midway, open noon to 11 p.m. 

  • Free family entertainment at Centennial Park from noon to 6 p.m. 

  • The Boldt Con – Humboldt’s own comic con, held from noon to 6 p.m. at the Uniplex. 

  • Living Skies Music Festival: Rock Night, featuring Big Wreck, Wide Mouth Mason, Captain Tractor and more from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Centennial Park.

Sunday, June 29 

  • Canuck Amusements Midway, oen noon to 11 p.m. 

  • Free family entertainment at Centennial Park from noon to 6 p.m. 

  • Living Skies Music Festival: Country Night with Jade Eagleson, Aaron Goodvin, the Johner Brothers and more on the main stage from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. 

Tuesday, July 1 – Canada Day 

  • O Canada ceremony, cupcakes from the Danish Oven and more at 11:30 a.m. at Civic Park. 

  • Barbecue fundraiser at noon, hosted by Country Care Sask and Prairie Care for the Elderly. 

  • Free family entertainment from noon to 4 p.m., including bouncy castles, baby dinos and a petting zoo. 

  • Fireworks finale at the Uniplex Grounds to close out the festivities.
