Construction season commencing in Melfort

The City of Melfort is warning the community that infrastructure projects will start work on May 5, and traffic controls will be in place.

MELFORT – The City of Melfort has warned residents that infrastructure work will commence on Mon. May 5. 

The following locations will be affected, and temporary traffic controls will be in place: 

  • Phase 1 (Stepney Ave. to Quebec Ave.): 

Full road closure with barricades and signage. Detour signs will be posted to redirect traffic. 

  • Phase 2 (Quebec Ave to Broadway Ave Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ): 

The entire length of Kingston Street will remain closed. Originally planned to reopen part of the road, it will stay closed for public and worker safety due to ongoing material transport. 

  • Resident Access: 

The main driveway access will not be available during construction. Please use back alleyways for access to your homes. 

Residents and visitors are asked to park along the sides of: 

• Broadway Ave Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ;

• Quebec Avenue; and

• Stepney Street.

The City of Melfort said, “We appreciate your patience and co-operation as we work to improve our community infrastructure.”
