Police look for vehicle involved in collision with school bus

The vehicle, described as a red Dodge truck, was pulled over for a routine traffic stop initiated by a Community Safety Officer.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - The City of North Battleford is asking for the public's help related to a collision involving a school bus on May 28.

"Please be advised that North Battleford Community Safety Officers and members of Battlefords RCMP are searching for a vehicle, which was involved in a collision with a school bus earlier this afternoon in North Battleford," the city's news release said.

The vehicle, described as a red Dodge truck, was pulled over for a routine traffic stop initiated by a Community Safety Officer. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene of the traffic stop where it then collided with a Conseil des écoles fransaskoises school bus carrying 43 students and three adults near the corner of 15 Avenue and 109 Street. The vehicle continued to flee after this collision. There are no reported injuries of students, staff members, or first responders at this time. 

If anyone has information about this matter, they are asked to provide details to Community Safety Officers at 306-445-1775 or Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720. Emergent matters should be directed to 9-1-1.

The city anticipates additional information, including a more detailed description of the vehicle, will be issued later this afternoon.
