Over 200 people came out for Paul Greenwood Day at Adanac. Greenwood received a plaque and some cash in recognition of his contributions to the community.

50 years ago

Unity town council agreed to guarantee a loan for up to $30,000 to be used for construction of dressing rooms on the north side of the community centre. Recreation director Don Robertson told council he had pledges from organizations which would pay the interest on the loan.

St. James CWL in Wilkie installed their new officers: Marie Mettlewsky, president; Rose Zeigler, Louise Stang and Amelia Gerlinsky, vice-presidents; Wilma Fenrich, treasurer; and Joyce Sutherland, secretary.

The 1975 Brave Winnebago was advertised for $13,900.

20 years ago

Unity town administrator Jim Weninger announced he was leaving in order to take a job with the City of Lloydminster.

Mitchell Nielsen won the Spirit of St. George Award at the St. George School awards night.

With high water levels in the area, mosquito populations were thriving. Both Unity and Wilkie were applying larvacide in various areas to try to combat the problem.
