Happy Center School near the Melville and Willowbrook area held team competitions and a fundraiser on Sunday.
This family event kicked off with the Pony Class miniature horses, Pony teams followed by Light horses and the Heavy horses.
Organizer Lorna Lockhart stated the recently renovated roof is a start but remains hopeful to continue needed attention to the school. “We would like to attend to the siding and maybe restore the barn”, informed Lockhart. However, the intent on the event was simple. “overall we’re here to have fun”.
Numerous participants entered in the course which included parallel parking their carts, obstacle courses through cones and greeting scarecrow Bubba during each competition.
