Columbia School recently participated in Free the Children’s “We Create Change” penny drive, supported by RBC. For one week, students and staff brought in their pennies, then turned them in to RBC to be ‘retired’. For every $25 raised, Free the Children helps to supply one person with fresh water for life. Access to fresh water helps to prevent disease, and also enables girls and women to get an education or have paying jobs, rather than spend much of their days fetching water for their families. Columbia School proudly donated over $950 in pennies, enough to supply 38 people with water for life. Way to go! Pictured is class 4L, the top-fundraising class, who collected over $125 in pennies.Submitted Photo
