The Yorkton Regional High School robotics program continued its provincial dominance March 20 taking gold and bronze at a tournament in Saskatoon. Seniors Bo Chiasson (left) and Michael Koshuska battled their way through the field of 88 Sumobots representing 32 Saskatchewan schools to take first place. Grade 9 students Brock Chiasson (right) and Brett Guenther took third place in their first competition. The Sumobot challenge is to program an autonomous robot to push its opponent out of a scaled Sumo wrestling style ring. Next up for YRHS Robotics is the Skills Canada provincial championship starting April 10 in Prince Albert with a goal of representing Saskatchewan for the third consecutive year at the National Skills competition in Toronto June 4 to 7.Staff Photo by Thom Barker
