Rodney Gerald Dixon June 8, 1955 - October 4, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of Rodney Dixon announces the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and brother on October 4, 2011, at the age of 56. Rodney will always be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Bonnie Dixon of Estevan; children, Glen (Lisa) Dixon, Medicine Hat, Alta.; Curtis (Danielle) Dixon, Estevan, Sask.; Bradley (Adrienne) Dixon, Medicine Hat, Alta.; brother, Gary (Jeannette) Dixon, Weyburn, Sask.; grandchildren, Patan Meyer and Cooper; his father and mother-in-law, William and Adeline Wanner, Estevan; his in-laws, Ken (Janet) Wanner, Saskatoon; Lucille (Richard) Weber, Arcola; Tim Wanner, Hythe, Alta., Allan (Vicky) Wanner, Waskada, Man., Laurie (Murray) Shackleton, Estevan; also numerous nieces and nephews. Rodney was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary, and infant son, Jamie. Rodney was born at Midale, Sask., and lived all his life in the Estevan area. He spent some years working in the oil field, but recently had returned to his favourite interest of carpentry. His love of wood working could be found in his own renovations, as well as many projects done for others. He was a collector of many things and a dedicated fan of the Estevan Motor Speedway. Rod loved to participate in sports of all kinds, the more challenging the competition, the better. He had the greatest pride in his family and their accomplishments, from a loving wife of 35 years to three amazing sons. He had great respect for his daughters-in-law and his grandkids could light up his eyes on any given day. A celebration of Rodney's life was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Paul's United Church with Sandy Dalziel officiating. Interment followed at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations may be given to a charity of your own choice in memory of Rodney Dixon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
