Jean Ann Matchett (nee Bannister) August 1, 1931 - May 26, 2012 Jean Matchett passed away peacefully with family at her side in Estevan, Sask. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the age of 80 years. Jean was born in Regina, Sask.

Jean Ann Matchett (nee Bannister) August 1, 1931 - May 26, 2012 Jean Matchett passed away peacefully with family at her side in Estevan, Sask. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the age of 80 years. Jean was born in Regina, Sask. and moved to Estevan with her husband Dave in February 1957. Jean's caring and fun-loving nature was instrumental in guiding her children and grandchildren to a legacy of living for the moment and appreciating all of God's creation. She especially loved watching, feeding and listening to her precious birds. Her kind and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. While her spirit lives on she will be greatly missed. Jean's memory will live always with her beloved husband of 56 years, Dave, and children, Brenda (Marvin) Olson, Robert (Joan) Matchett and Richard (Janice) Matchett; grandchildren, Robin (Heather) Olson, Ryan (Lise) Olson, Alison (Brad) Seipp, Ashley Olson, Caitlin Matchett, Riley Matchett, Luke Matchett and James Matchett; great-grandchildren, Clara Jean Seipp and Chace Olson; brother, Bill (Helen) Bannister; brother-in-law, Ken (Muriel) Matchett and brother-in-law Vern (Joanne) Neuls; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents, William and Jean Bannister; step-brother, Allan McIntosh; sister, Mildred (Lockwood) Ironside; brother-in-law, Karl Lockwood; brother-in-law, Jim Ironside; parents-in-law, James and Marguerite Matchet; and sister-in-law, Irene (Matchett) Neuls. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church, Estevan. Interment took place at the Estevan City Cemetery. Those so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 - 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1, the New Estevan Regional Nursing Home, 1201 - 2nd Street, Estevan, SK, S4A 0M1 or a charity of the donor's choice in Jean's memory. Arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. Thank You Thank you to friends and family for the flowers, cards, kind words and other gifts; they were greatly appreciated. Thank you to Rev. Brenna Nickel for helping us through a difficult time and St. Paul's United Church for the wonderful lunch. Thank you to Dustin and the staff at Hall Funeral Services for their guidance and understanding. Finally, a special thanks to the nurses and staff at the St. Joseph's Hospital Long Term Care for the compassion and support provided to Jean and family.
