Glen James Kidd 1938 - 2014 Glen Kidd, late of Bienfait, Sask. passed away in Estevan, Sask. on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the age of 75 years. Glen James Kidd was born on September 20, 1938 in Antler, Sask. His parents, Albert and Pearl, were very excited to finally have a boy after having three girls - Marion, Audrey and Darlene. He grew up on a farm near Storthoaks, Sask. and attended school there. Glen decided farming was not for him and chose a career in the oil industry. He worked on the drilling rigs for many years. He married Jean Schlamp on September 28, 1959. They were blessed with a boy, Terry, in 1960 and a girl, Bonnie, in 1961. The life of following a rig around Saskatchewan and Alberta was too much when the kids started attending school. As a result, they moved to Bienfait in 1966. Glen worked at Shelter Industries for a short time then in 1970 started at the coal mine where he worked until his retirement. He lost his son in July of 1976 in a tragic accident and his wife of 33 years to cancer in 1993. Glen was always so thankful to be living in the same town as his three grandchildren - Tyra, Tayshia and Trey. He was fortunate enough to find love twice and in 1997 he married his second wife, Sherrie Antoine, who stayed by his side until his death January 1, 2014. Glen will be fondly remembered for his generosity and humour. Glen was predeceased by his first wife Jean; son Terry; parents, Albert and Pearl; sisters, Marian Chambers, Darlene Luedtke and Audrey Englot and one brother in infancy. He is survived by his wife Sherrie Kidd of Bienfait; daughter Bonnie (James) Bernhardt of Bienfait; grandchildren, Tyra Bernhardt (Thomas Abbott), Tayshia Bernhardt (Adam Patenaude) and Trey Bernhardt; step children, Gregory Clark of Washington, DC, Stephen Clark (Candis) of Washington and Aleasharose Antoine (Adam Knudson) of Rolla, ND; step grandchildren, Shantah Antoine, Chiyahn and Nevaeh Bruce, Chevy, Takota, Mary and Tarissa Clark, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws, and special friend Helen Jesz and her son Jason Jensen of Minot, ND. A Memorial Service for Glen was held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Estevan Alliance Church with Pastor Waylon Klix officiating. Interment will take place in the Bienfait Cemetery at a later date.
