Internationally known fibre artist Monika Kinner-Whalen, originally from North Battleford, facilitated art workshops at her former high school, John Paul II Collegiate, April 18 and 19. The workshops took place in home ec classes and art classes. Students learned about the life of a ‘real artist’ and some art students started a thread painting project with Kinner-Whalen’s guidance. A Meet and Greet the Artist took place over the lunch hour on Thursday in the school library, attracting lots of attention from students as well as visitors from the Battlefords Quilting Guild.
