The Battlefords and District Farmers’ Market is the latest in the long series of donors that have come forward for the Credit Union CUPlex. They ended up with a surplus left over from last year, so the non-profit co-operative decided to make a donation of $700. The donation is being made as the Farmers’ Market gets ready for another season of operations starting May 12 at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of 100th Street and 12th Avenue, with plans to stay open outdoors until September before moving for the last three months indoors at Territorial Place Mall. Participating in the cheque presentation May 2 were David Schell from the CUPlex fundraising committee, farmers’ market director John Trach, farmers’ market president Rik Meere, and Rob Rongve, Leah Milton, Heath Gabruch and Kathy McNinch from the fundraising committee.Photo by John Cairns
