This was the scene Saturday afternoon in downtown North Battleford for the annual Santa Claus Parade. The parade was held in conjunction with a Winter Festival to promote downtown North Battleford, an event that included street hockey games, sleigh rides and plenty of hot chocolate and marshmallow-roasting. It turned out to be a bone-chilling afternoon, but that did not dampen the spirits of those in attendance, with Santa’s arrival as the highlight of the day for the many families who showed up.Photo by John Cairns
