As part of Tourism Week in the Battlefords, Battlefords Tourism had intended to host a Voyageur canoe ride around Finlayson Island. Cool, windy weather kept interested individuals at home, but Vinessa Currie-Foster of Clearwater Canoeing still put on a demonstration for those who turned out. She dressed Owen Einsiedler, field representative for Tourism Saskatchewan, up as a voyageur from around the turn of the 19th century, taking care to describe every clothing item and its purpose.Photo by Alex McPhail
