At an annual luncheon May 18, Battlefords Tourism presented four awards. From left to right: Gold Eagle Lodge, represented by Laura Allan, the Gold Eagle Casino, represented by Human Resources Manager Kevin Sapp, tourism volunteer Donna Fuhr and Roger Giesbrecht, photographer and volunteer for Battlefords Tourism. The Gold Eagle Lodge received an award for its work in human resources – work that was recently honoured with a Tourism Saskatchewan Award of Excellence. The Gold Eagle Casino was a finalist in the same category. Fuhr received her award for her many hours of dedicated service to the community, and Giesbrecht’s is one in a long line of awards he has recently received. North Battleford galleries recently awarded him their first-ever lifetime volunteer award, and he was given the 2011 North Battleford Western Development Museum’s Volunteer of the Year award.
