The four-part harmony chorus Battlefords Blend is presenting a centennial Christmas show and sale Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Dekker Center for the Performing Arts in North Battleford. In addition to a performance, there will be an opening sale event, featuring a variety of vendors offering everything from kitchen items to North Battleford centennial souvenirs. The doors will open at noon, allowing time to browse before the show. There will also be a silent auction. The show commences at 2 p.m. and will include guest performers: Tristen Durocher, a young fiddle player from La Ronge; Lana Quinn, local singer, songwriter and harpist; and local tenor Jeff Arndt. Tickets are available at the Dekker Centre box office. Battlefords Blend, a barbershop chorus, is a member of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide women’s singing organization committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. Sweet Adelines was formed in Tulsa, Okla. in 1945 and now has over 32,000 members. Battlefords Blend chartered in 1982 and has been actively involved in local entertainment, regional workshops and competitions ever since. The chorus is under the direction of Annette Duhaime.
