YORKTON - The 2025 edition of the Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer ‘Smile Cookies for Cancer’ campaign is under way.
While the exact total is still being determined – the campaign runs until Sunday evening, it is anticipated the annual cookie sales through Tim Hortons will again raise significant dollars.
In its seventh year – 2024 -- the campaign raised $17,000 up from $16,490 in 2023.
The money raised goes to support local cancer patients and their families through the Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer Local Cancer Initiatives Program. The local initiatives are targeted to help local cancer patients and their families.
The support can help families in a number of ways, from covering the cost of the first night’s stay at the Regina Cancer Patient Lodge or Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon, or help young cancer patients attend a medically supervised summer camp.
Friday Tim Hortons manager Vishal Sharma said he has been pleased with the support the cookie campaign has received and encouraged businesses and individuals to buy more of the $2 cookies as it goes to such a good cause.
