YORKTON - The Station Interpretive Centre at the Yorkton Brick Mill held a ‘soup & bread’ lunch Wednesday.

The event – the first of four upcoming June 26, July 31, and Aug. 28 – was both a fundraiser, and an opportunity for mill tours.

Among the attendees were 12 Grade 3 and 4 students from Chief Gabriel Cote School from Cote First Nation.

Teacher Susan O’Soup, said visiting the mill was a great opportunity for students to learn where flour comes from, and how it is made.

The Interpretive Centre is still not complete, but fundraising for the still required $600,000 is ongoing, said mill representative Larry Pearen.

In terms of fundraising the popular ‘Rally Around the Mill’ event is scheduled for Aug. 16.

If all goes well work will continue in September, said Pearen.
