Preeceville hosts first Sunday Funday with golf and prizes

Golfers teed off at the first Annual Sunday Funday at Annie Laurie Meadows with a longest drive contest, barbecue and local prizes.

PREECEVILLE — The first Annual Sunday Funday was held at the Annie Laurie Meadows Golf Course on June 15. Golfers challenged each other to see who had the longest drive, followed by a barbecue lunch and refreshments.

“We had such a blast,” said Jamie Leason, one of the organizers.

Jesse Antionichuk of Preeceville won the Longest Drive Contest — 365 yards for the top prize of $400.

Steven Geistlinger came in second with 295 yards and won a new golf bag donated by Preeceville Agencies and a box of golf balls donated by Taiga Tech.

Regan Nichol, the only girl in the competition, also won a box of golf balls donated by Taiga Tech.
