Outlook, Dinsmore, Loreburn, Kenaston young athletes make a mark at provincial track meet

Young athletes from a number of local schools within the Sun West School Division area made their mark at the 2025 Provincial Track and Field meet held in Moose Jaw.

MOOSE JAW - The Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SHSAA) held Provincial Track and Field Championships at Gutherridge Field in Moose Jaw on June 6-7, 2025.

Athletes from Sun West schools acquitted themselves very well during Provincial Track with many athletes finishing in the top ten in their events and/or achieving their personal bests. Over 100 Sun West athletes participated in Provincial Track from the following Sun West schools: Dinsmore Composite, Kyle Composite, Elrose Composite, Davidson, Westcliffe Composite in Marengo, Biggar Central School 2000, Rosetown Central High, Eaton in Eatonia, Outlook High, North West Central in Plenty, Kenaston, Lucky Lake, Loreburn Central, Kindersley Composite, and Beechy Schools.

The school division wished all Provincial Track athletes well and congratulated them for their notable efforts and achievements.

Eight Sun West athletes earned ten medals and made appearances on the podium during the Provincial Track Championships. This included Reise Dolan of Outlook High School who won the Gold medal in Senior Boys Discus.

In addition, LCBI High School in Outlook sent a team of 11 athletes:

Larkyn Lee - Sr Girls 3000m

Daylan Hoeflicher - Sr Boys 800m, 4x400m Relay
Kyler Spencer - Sr Boys Javelin
Kyler Follick - Sr Boys 400m, 4x400m Relay
Jude Ellis - Jr Boys 400m
Eric Walters - Jr Boys Triple Jump
Glory Corlan - Int Girls 100m, 200m, 4x100m Relay
Omid Rezae - Int Boys 200m, Long Jump, 4x100m Relay
Nash Dolan - Int Boys 400m, Discus, Shot Put, 4x400m Relay

Dolan ended up earning a Bronze medal in the Intermediate Boys Shot Put event with a throw of 12.49 meters.

Finally, Loreburn Central School sent four athletes to the event who competed in the javelin and high jump events, including:

Matthew Possberg - High Jump
Parker Walsh - High Jump
