Thanks to Yorkton This Week for your positive comments on The Real Dirt on Farming , which appeared in the April 22 edition of Yorkton This Week. The booklet was intended for exactly this purpose: to start conversations about food and farming in Canada. We hope more Canadians will also give more thought about how food is produced.
In the same edition though, an opinion piece written by Calvin Daniels about the booklet is disparaging of the images in the Real Dirt booklet.
The photos in The Real Dirt on Farming were winning entries in a national photography contest last summer and were submitted by farmers from across Canada. Farmers are proud of what they do and want to share their stories with the public – which includes sharing photos of their animals.
