Dear Editor:
Premier Brad Wall is again blowing his own horn and spreading propaganda about his good 鈥渨ork鈥�, in managing the Saskatchewan economy through his slick advertising campaign.
What he forgets to reveal is that when he won the election eight years ago, he fell into booming times in Saskatchewan and this wasn鈥檛 of his doing either. The previous government left him about two billion dollars to work with.
Also people were moving into Saskatchewan because of 鈥渃heap鈥� farmland and housing. This influx helped cause prices of these two items to skyrocket!
Times have now changed to no more booming economy and Wall has to deal with the reality of managing the Saskatchewan economy by borrowing money, selling land, liquor stores, P3 projects, etc. to help balance the books. It has been stated that the Saskatchewan government is running a $2 million deficit per day now!!
Brad Wall has a short memory; we only have to look back to the days of Grant Devine (former Premier of Sask. In 80鈥檚), when Saskatchewan exported more people that the NDP, put Saskatchewan in a large debt position 鈥� which we are still paying today!
Brad Wall is following too closely in the footsteps of the previous Harper government, ignorance, dubious projects such as the Regina bypass project and foolish ideology that will get him in trouble with the Saskatchewan voters.
Brad Wall do not worry about the NDP. There is a new hidden competition coming into the horizon called Progressive Conservatives that could put this government into a minority position!!
